Sparklers Services are specially for pre-school children and their carers, and are held approximately once every half-term. Each service starts with the lighting of the Sparklers candle, accompanied by the Sparklers song, then the children hear a story. After more songs, the children usually have a treasure hunt around the church - for example, following the story of the Good Shepherd, the children hunted for cut out sheep. After more songs, there follows a very short and simple prayer time, then the children blow out the Sparklers candle.
This is a social group for pre-school children and their carers, which meets during term time on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10.00 am to 11.30 am in the Community Hall. The group provides an opportunity for parents to meet together, and for the children to learn how to interact with other children of their age group.
There are opportunities for craft activities, with a craft table, and colouring table with felt pens. The home corner is equipped with a large variety of kitchen equipment, dolls, prams and cots, tea sets and play food. There is also a garage with toy cars.
A friendly social group. If you can't knit, tuition will be given if required. Bring along any other crafts - crochet, hand sewing etc and enjoy an informal group whilst enjoying your own craft work.
