We will continue to offer our Sunday service live-streamed on St Mark's Church Facebook Page - the service is at 10.30am and we start to gather from 10.20am. I have attached the reading and hymn sheet for this week as well as the service sheet (which is the same as the last few weeks)
For your interest:
Churches opening for private prayer.
We are starting to tentatively open our churches again, thank you for your patience with this. This has been done with careful planning and due regard to the health of those who visit and those who are volunteering to be in church when people visit. A big thank you to those who have been helping to make this happen.
St Mark's is now open for individual prayer on Wednesday's and Saturday's from 10am -12noon
St Mary's, Cloughton will be opening this coming week on Monday at 11am - 12noon and Thursday 1pm - 2-pm
St Laurence's will be opening soon, but unfortunately whilst there is scaffolding around the organ and work being done on the organ it will remain closed.
3. Churches opening for public worship
You will be very much aware that from the 4th July life will change again. We are really looking forward to the time when we can meet again in our respective churches and I hope and pray that this will happen soon.
At the moment we still don't have any details about how it might happen (eg. numbers allowed in at one time, length of time of services, how we offer communion and a number of other questions). One of the reasons for this is because whilst the government has said that "places of worship" can open from 4th July this of course covers different faiths which have different issues and concerns. So we are still waiting for more guidance on this and the Bishops have asked us to be patient and not to rush ahead.
My feeling is that we will have to take this slowly and cautiously and it won't happen overnight, but one thing we do know is that whatever we do we will have to make sure everything is "Covid-safe" and so I do urge you to be patient with us so we can get this right.
My heart goes out to those who haven't been able to access our services through the internet and I would hope that whatever we do to begin with will include them. It also makes sense that we will carry on with our live-streamed services for the foreseeable future alongside whatever we do in church, just to ease the transition as smoothly and as carefully as possible.
Next week therefore, the service will still be live-streamed on facebook (please don't come to church) but will hopefully be filmed in church with a few different people contributing.
